Sligo Regional Hospital recently held an environmental awareness day for it’s staff and visitors. The event was run by the HSE Estates Department and Sligo Regional Hospital Group.
Speakers from the Green Healthcare Programme, SRCL and National Healthcare Sustainability Office, ran training sessions for staff on various aspects of waste management, waste prevention and implementing a sustainability ethos in the hospital and wider HSE.
Information stands from SEAI, Green Healthcare, Sligo County Council and Greenstar, located in the hospital foyer, provided useful information to staff and visitors on measures to prevent waste, save energy and reduce waste management costs, both in the hospital and at home.
