The Green Healthcare Programme (GHCP) has published new guidance documents on waste prevention and resource efficiency for Irish hospitals. This follows from the 99 surveys that the programme has now completed in 30 hospitals, comprising over 50% of national bed capacity in Ireland.

This guidance includes Four New Documents on Food Waste Prevention and how to carry out surveys in hospitals relating to that stream. A new Factsheet on General Waste has also been developed as has an Overview of the Main Findings of the Programme and a Guide on How to Set up a Waste Prevention and Improvement Programme.

These follow on from many of the other guidance documents already prepared and available here.
